Oops

I just realized I hadn't formatted the blog to automatically forward comments to my e-mail account. I also changed it so people can leave anonymous comments-- which means you don't have to register with blogger to leave a comment or you can use that function if you have some particularly nasty critiques. :)

Tree Frog

Says “ribbet” or “kreeck-ek”
I think a great design element could be a trio of tree frogs sitting on a log, each with a voice/song bubble

Black Bear

Raven

poets on the peaks page  delete “to the right” after Gary Snyder poem. Include three examples of poems on first page, and then cinquain/haiku directions and space for unstructured poem on second page

Mountain Goat

I agree with Paula’s suggestion to swap goat images. I would also change the title to “Cascades Explorer Totem”
Fisher Site Survey:
page 1
It is one of many animals (delete the)
also make sure there are no hypens (each word should be whole)
move goat and fisher to first activity page
also include another photograph of Fisher
page 2
change Fisher to say “I’d love to, but I might need some help”
“…a few characteristics of (not or) a forest ecosystem…downed logs…resting sites.
delete comma before “using your tools of observation”
Change last sentence of instructions to read “Record your findings in the space provided below”
Add line  “Circle your conclusion below”
Then  This site is/is not suitable

A few more thoughts:

Thanks for sending up the booklet pages that Chip's kids did. I noticed a couple things I missed. For the JR Sensory Bingo, can you have "birds or birdsong". I think I wrote this in a past document, but can you add a little tree frog to the top of the bingo page with the directions in a voice bubble? Also, when you get to the wordsearch for the black bear booklet, Jeff Giesen's (NCI) wife suggested adding a box to check next to each animal/word the kids have to find.

Happy November!!

We should make sure earth worms are native to NOCA. They may be inroduced.
